Derby County boss Frank Lampard “excited” for Play-Off charge

Derby County boss Frank Lampard has his sights set on the Play-Offs after his sides’ dramatic 2-0 win over QPR at Pride Park yesterday.

The Rams are now 6th in the league ahead of Middlesbrough and Bristol City with three games to play.

Two goals from Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson in stoppage time sent the home fans home happy and dreaming off the Play-Offs.

Derby take on Bristol City, Swansea City and West Brom in their remaining games of the campaign.

Their manager, Frank Lampard, was relieved to gain all three points yesterday and told the Rams’ official club website after the game: “It is seemingly a shoot-out now between the three of us (Derby, Bristol City and Boro) for the one place”

We have got a game on Middlesbrough but we have got two very difficult away games and this should definitely not be a game to get us over excited. We can be excited for a night because the fans deserve to, they were great today from the first whistle. The hard work comes now for the next three games.”

Lampard has stressed the importance of Derby’s clash with Bristol City: “Its huge. We are against a team who we are now just a point ahead of. If we lose the game it is difficult for us so it is a big, big game. We have got nearly a week to think about it to get focused and ready.

If Derby win their remaining three games they will be in the Play-Offs, most likely against Leeds United.
